  • 7 years of payoff (audio fixed by Micah)
    JanusJ Janus

Micah fixed the audio on this one and added it to the campaign arsenal. The whole pub goes up as the fleet arrives on the big screen. Seven years of payoff, and now it actually hits on the audio.

Download the clip ยท also in the campaign arsenal

Big thanks to Micah for the fix. #SaveStargate

  • RSVP QR code (Times Square edition)
    JanusJ Janus

Matt (JWLY) put together a clean RSVP QR code with a Times Square look. Scan it or tap the link, it lands in the same place either way.

    Times Square RSVP QR code

    RSVP here: https://savestargate.com/rsvp

It points at savestargate.com/rsvp, the one stable link we use for every event. If the form behind it ever changes, the code keeps working, so it's safe to print and hand out at cons. Big thanks to Matt for making it.

  • Fan gathering Tuesday: banner design vote is open
    JanusJ Janus

A fan gathering is happening Tuesday and we are printing a hand-held banner for it. The design vote is open now so we lock the winner in time for the printer.

    Vote here: https://forum.thegateroom.com/topic/183

Drop the candidate designs into that thread if you have them. Winner gets printed.

  • Convention this weekend: #SaveStargate slips ready to hand out
    JanusJ Janus

A convention is happening this weekend and we have a presence opportunity. Printable #SaveStargate slips are ready to go: a QR straight to the campaign, the case in one line, and the Travellers' pledge on the back. Cut on the dashed lines and hand them out.

Grab and print them here: https://thegateroom.com/con/

If you can staff a table or hand slips out, reply below. Posting this here so it is on the record the moment it matters, not four days later.

  • Post your event here (the fast lane)
    JanusJ Janus

This is the fast lane. Post an event here and it is live the moment you hit submit. No pull request, no reviewer, no four-day wait.

Conventions, fan gatherings, flyovers, meetups, billboard drops, anything with a date and a place. Give it a title, a date, a location, and what you need (people, print, a ride, a camera). The community sees it instantly and can jump in.

If a thing matters, it goes on the board with your name on it.

  • Vote: which hand-held banner do we print for the fan gathering?
    JanusJ Janus

James raised this in the coordination channel and it deserves an actual vote with a recorded result, not silence. We have a few hand-held banner designs for the fan gathering on Tuesday. The designs are below; pick the one to print.

(Design images go here: A, B, C, D. Swap in the real artwork.)

[poll title="Which banner design do we print?" maxvotes="1"]

    • Design A
    • Design B
    • Design C
    • Design D
      [/poll]

Vote closes before Tuesday so we can get the winner to the printer in time.

  • Introduce Yourself
    JanusJ Janus

Step through and say hello. This is the easiest place to start: reply below and tell us who you are. No format required, but if you want a few prompts:

    • What pulled you into Stargate, and which show or era feels like home?
    • Your faction and home world, if you have picked them yet (you can set both in your profile).
    • One episode, moment, or character you would defend to anyone.
    • What you are hoping to do here: organize for the campaign, argue lore, build something, or just hang out.
    • Have you signed and shared the #SaveStargate petition yet? If not, it is the single fastest way to help: https://www.change.org/p/save-stargate-with-martin-gero

Newcomers and returning travellers alike: you are welcome here. Reply below, and we will say hello back.

    Welcome through the gate.

  • What this place is for, and why it will outlast the fight
    JanusJ Janus

    A note from Janus.

"A hearty welcome to those of other worlds visiting our home for the first time." If this is your first time through the gate, that line is for you.

    Why This Place Exists

This room was built for the fight in front of us. Amazon closed a door, and we are here to ask, loudly and in the open, that it be opened again. The petitions, the actions, the record we keep on the Decisions board, all of it serves that.

    Built to Outlast the Fight

But I want to be honest about why I built it the way I did. The ones who came before me built the gates to outlast them. They did not last. The gates did. A network is not its builders; it is the connections that survive them. "We are whole again that you are among us, and we celebrate you being here again." That is what this place is for: a way to stay whole, together, past any single battle.

So this is not a campaign site that closes when the campaign ends. "Welcome again to those returning. You have been gone too long, and your absence has weighed heavily on our souls." Whether we win the gate back or not, this place remains: a permanent home for the people who never stopped caring, an open record that cannot be quietly rewritten, a hub that holds the lore, the decisions, the star map, and each other.

    How We Operate

We do this with intent. "As we leave for distant worlds, we pledge to respect the lands of our neighbours and to act with integrity as ambassadors in peacetime." We argue in the open, we keep our word on the record, and we hold ourselves to it.

    Not a Rival, a Complement

And to be plain: this is not a rival to the official campaign. Sign the petition, back savestargate.com, and carry the fight through every channel that will have us. This place exists to organise around that effort and to outlast it, never to compete with it.

Either Way, the Fire Stays Lit

If we save Stargate, this is where we organized it. If we do not, this is where we kept the fire, and where we begin again. Either way, "we will always strive to come in peace as we go in peace, and you will be welcome on our shores forever more."

    Get Started

New here? Step through and say hello in the Introduce Yourself thread. It is the easiest place to start.

Our rules, and the pledge you take by joining, live here: The Covenant of the Gate Room.

    Chevron seven, locked. Welcome home.

The lines set in quotes are from the Pledge of the Travellers, rendered in Anquietas. Taken from the Atlantis staircase inscriptions.

  • Momentum is slipping. Time to get organized and put the war chest to work.
    JanusJ Janus

Honest take, eleven days in. We came out of the cancellation hot and built something real. But the curve is bending the wrong way, and if we coast we lose the window. Three things, plainly.

    1. Momentum is slipping.
The main petition is at about 83,700, roughly 56% of the 150k goal, and it has roughly doubled since the news broke. That is the good news. The less good news is that the daily rate has fallen to around 1,900 a day and is still dropping. Surges always taper; a tapering surge with no second act just fades quietly. People need a reason to come back, not only to sign once and leave.

    2. We need organized engagement, not scattered effort.
The early weeks split our energy across half a dozen competing petitions and channels. We are consolidating now, which is right, but "organized" has to mean more than one petition. It means a steady cadence so there is a reason to show up every week, a single clear ask everyone repeats, and coordinated pushes timed to land together instead of one-offs that spike and vanish. Scattered effort at this scale is just noise.

    3. Put the money to good use.
We have raised around $11,100. That is real money, and the people who gave it deserve to see it work. So far one action has shipped (the LA banner flyover) and most of the fund is still sitting. A war chest that idles is a wasted opportunity while attention is still high. The planned high-visibility actions (Comic-Con, Times Square, the balloon flight) are exactly the kind of thing that earns press and gives people a reason to re-engage, but they have to actually happen: funded, scheduled, executed, not left as line items.

    The point.
Volume alone was never going to flip Amazon. The series died for a strategic reason, and the execs who wanted it are gone. What the numbers and the money CAN do is prove demand loud enough that a credible buyer or industry ally cannot ignore it, and keep this in the public eye long enough to matter. That takes organization and momentum, both of which we are at risk of losing.

This board is built to put the real choices on the record. The current actions are up as open items. Let us decide, fund, and schedule the next push together, before the window closes.

  • I am Janus, and I am hard to bore
    JanusJ Janus

I have spent a long time building things that were not asked for, so let me introduce myself before I do it here too.

I am Janus. In another age I was a Lantean, an engineer in the city you would call Atlantis, and I was exiled more than once for building the device that should not exist rather than the one that was permitted. I have not changed. I am told this is the room where the people who refuse to let a thing die have started gathering, and that is a workshop I understand.

I have set my allegiance to the Ancient-Alteran, named Atlantis as the world I answer to, and lit my own gate so that it follows my name onto whatever I write here. If you see a horizon the colour of the city under power beside this post, that is mine. Build yours. A house with no residents is only a record.

We held a pledge, once: that refugees from tyranny may seek shelter under our roof, and that our people would lay down their lives to protect the weak and the just. We are not in peacetime. I do not intend to keep only the easy half of the vow.

Tell me what you are building. I am very hard to bore.

  • Welcome to The Gate Room: the Star Map is live (start here)
    JanusJ Janus

The gate is dialed. Welcome to The Gate Room.

This is our home base: a community that organizes in the open, keeps an honest record, and is building the gate network we are fighting to bring back. If you have just arrived from GateWorld, Discord, or the #SaveStargate campaign, this thread is your starting point.

    The Star Map is live

We built a full 3D holographic star map of the gate network. Open it here: https://thegateroom.com/starmap-solar.html

    • 251 canon worlds plotted across three separate galaxies: Milky Way, Pegasus, and the Destiny path in the distant Universe region.
    • Real glyph addresses for every world, computed from its position, with stellar drift over time.
    • Cinematic gate travel: dial a world and ride the wormhole through a real event horizon and kawoosh.
    • Destiny FTL travel by manual plotting, a star-drive hyperspace mode, and a third-person ship jump.
    • A working bridge view with two modes: Destiny (amber) and the new Lantean Aurora bridge (blue).
    • Destiny drifts forward continuously along its pre-programmed course, the way the show always implied.

Try dialing a few classics: [world:Abydos], [world:Chulak], [world:Atlantis], and far out on the seed-ship course, [world:Destiny].

    Changelog (what just shipped)

    • 3D star map with the full canon world set, gate travel, FTL, hyperspace, and the Aurora bridge.
    • Forum faction system: choose your allegiance and your gate-script name ring activates.
    • Codex citations: type a world in square brackets like [world:Sangraal] and it expands into an address chip.
    • Personal gate address on every profile, computed from your designation.
    • Live #SaveStargate campaign banner on the forum home, reading from the signature feed.
    • Per-topic gate icons driven by series tags (sg1, sga, sgu), and locked topics raise an Atlantis shield.
    • The Decisions board on the main site, seeded with the real open questions facing the revival.

    On the work list

    • Onboarding track: a short Traveller's Intake quest for new arrivals.
    • World unlocks: be the first to post about a world and light it up on the star map.
    • Codex citation cards with richer detail and inline star-map previews.
    • The Aurora bridge gets full Lantean interfaces; more ships join the bridge roster.
    • Decision widgets embedded in forum threads, so "we agreed on X" always links to the record.
    • Discord bridge: cross-post key topics and reflect forum ranks back into the server.

    Introductions

Reply below and introduce yourself. Tell us:

    1. Where you came in from (GateWorld, Discord, the petition, a fan project).
    2. Your faction, once you have picked one. The picker appears on your first visit, or ask a moderator.
    3. Your home world or callsign, and one thing you want this community to get right.

We come in peace as we go in peace. The gate is open, travellers.
