Before you step through, read this. It is short, and it is the whole agreement. This community is built on one old promise, and we ask every traveller to take it.
The Pledge of the Travellers
We hold these as the truth, a hearty welcome to those of other worlds visiting our home for the first time. Welcome again to those returning, you have been gone too long and your absence has weighed heavily on our souls. We are whole again that you are among us, and we celebrate you being here again. As we leave for distant worlds, we pledge to respect the lands of our neighbours and to act with integrity as ambassadors in peacetime. Of our people, travellers with open hearts will always be welcome. Refugees from tyranny may seek shelter under our roof and know that our people will lay down their lives to protect the weak and the just. Let this be our pledge to those inhabitants of this world and all we may ever know, we will always strive to come in peace as we go in peace, and you will be welcome on our shores forever more.

What the pledge means here
The pledge is not decoration. These are the rules, drawn straight from it:
- Welcome the newcomer. "A hearty welcome to those visiting our home for the first time." No gatekeeping, no tests of who counts as a real fan. Everyone starts somewhere.
- Act with integrity as ambassadors. Argue the idea, never attack the person. Debate in good faith, and represent this community well wherever you carry its name.
- Protect the weak and the just. No harassment, bigotry, threats, or targeting of anyone. We defend people from that, and we remove those who bring it.
- Come in peace, go in peace. Disagree all you like, but keep it civil. When a thread ends, the door stays open. We do not carry grudges across the gate.
- Keep the record honest. Our decisions and debates are an open record. No sockpuppets, vote manipulation, spam, or quietly rewriting what was said. The honest record is the whole point.
- Stay on our shores. This is a home for Stargate, its community, and the effort to bring it back. Keep what you post connected to that.
Taking the pledge
By creating an account here, you take this pledge. Break it badly or repeatedly and you may be shown the gate out. Honour it, and you will be welcome on our shores forever more.
