Throwing this one to the room because I keep going back and forth.

For me it is still the Goa'uld years. There was a weight to those early SG-1 seasons that the show never quite matched again. Apophis felt genuinely dangerous, the System Lords had real politics between them, and any gate trip could go badly. The Replicators and the Wraith both raised the stakes later, but by then a lot of the tension came from how good the team already was rather than how scary the enemy was. And the Ori had great ideas that I never felt got the room to fully land.

But I will happily be talked out of this. Which arc was the franchise at its absolute best, and what is the one moment from that era that proves your case?
